Hey, my name is Evaldas and i am international student from Lithuania. I am studying at Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood. I am looking forward to working as a Lighter/Generalist for film or commercials. This is my demo reel after 5 terms.

Mercedes Vision

I had an idea to create an abstract futuristic Mercedes vision, where car would be surrounded by hard surface looking machines and organic/ liquid refractions. Modeling, shading and lighting were done in Maya. "Organic tunnel effect" was made with default maya shaders using facing ratio and bump nodes. Simple = effective. Rendered in mental ray. Post in after effects. Project still in progress, so if you have some comments feel free to write me an email.

Is a Short Film & Music video directed by Sil van der Woerd. I had a great honor to be lead lighter on this project. Also i was working on tracking (Boujou) and procedural texturing (Maya). The most difficult scene to light was "master scene" were the girl was lieying on the floor in the middle of the factory. The scene was heavily populated with machines, so we had to be very efficient with render time. Sil is wonderfull director to work with, so i learned a lot from him. Release day: April 30th.

minimalistic, delicate environment flows with curvy Mercedes shapes. Lighting: HDR + maya lighting set up. Rendering mental ray. Post in Photoshop. Passes: diffuse, reflection, shadow, AO.

Greek City- work in progress

Metro Fluids

This project was done with my friend Emil Besirevic for matchmoving class. We choose Vermont station to shoot the video. It was hard to shoot because there were a lot of extras walking around :) Finaly we got the footage, we tracked it in boujou, added particles and lighting in maya, and post was done in shake and after effects.

Castle

This project was done for poly modeling class. I was always been facinated by castles and knights so i decided to create one. I wated to create sunny day lighting, and have some reflections on the statues. Modeling, lighting and texturing was done in maya. Post in photoshop.

Strange behavior

This project was done for photorealistic rendering class. Asignemt was to create something abstract from primitives. As i know abstract art became popular in 19 century and it was big movement in New York. So i decided to recreate that atmosphere. I found 1910's new york picture and decided to integrate abstract building in the middle of traditional ones. Modeling and lighting was done in maya. Post in photoshop.
